Ranking: everyone's own order, combined
Ranking has no right answer — each participant orders a list by their own preference, and Slidea blends every individual ranking into one overall group view.
Reach for Ranking whenever the interesting question is "what order does this group put these things in," not "which single thing wins." It suits a strategy session ranking candidate priorities for next quarter, a workshop asking people to order feature ideas by how much they'd use them, or a team retro ranking which parts of a process cause the most friction. Because it captures a full ordering rather than a single pick, it surfaces more nuance than a plain vote — you learn not just what's most popular but what's a close second and what's clearly at the bottom.
If you actually have one objectively correct sequence — a set of historical events in order, or steps that must happen in a specific sequence — use Lineup instead, which scores each participant against that correct order rather than just aggregating opinion.

Set the prompt
Fill in the Question field with what participants are ranking — "Rank these project ideas by priority" is a typical fit.

List what needs ranking
Add every item participants will order using Add Item. Keep the list short enough to drag comfortably on a phone screen — five or six items is a comfortable ceiling.

Frequently asked questions
Can participants change their ranking after submitting?
Not once it's submitted for that round — if you want people to reconsider, run the slide again as a new round rather than editing after the fact.
How does Slidea combine everyone's individual rankings into one group order?
Each position in a participant's list contributes points to that item, and the group view sorts items by their total points across all responses — so an item that's usually near the top, even if never in the exact same spot twice, still rises to the top overall.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of items I can add?
You need at least two items for a ranking to mean anything; there's no hard maximum, though longer lists get harder to drag through on a small screen.
