Scales: rate a statement

For satisfaction checks, agreement levels, or a before-and-after comparison, Scales collects a numeric rating on whatever statement you set — and averages it live.

Scales is the right tool whenever you want more granularity than a simple yes/no or red/yellow/green split but don't need the open-ended nuance of written feedback. A training wrap-up asking people to rate "This training was worth my time" from 1 to 5, a product session asking teams to rate "I understand what we're shipping this sprint" from 1 to 10, or a workshop running the same statement at the start and end of the day to measure movement — all are a natural fit. Because every statement tracks its own live average, you get a number you can compare across sessions or across time, which a free-text answer can't give you as cleanly.

If what you actually need is a fast, low-effort temperature check rather than a considered rating, Traffic Lights will get you an answer in a fraction of the time — it trades precision for speed. Scales is worth the extra tap when the distinction between a 6 and an 8 actually matters to you.

1. Add the slide

   Select New Slide → Scales under Interaction.

2. Write your statement(s)

   Add one or several using Add Statement — for example, "This training was worth my time." Each statement is rated and reported on independently.

3. Choose your range

   Pick the scale (1–5 or 1–10) and label both ends — for example, "Strongly disagree" through "Strongly agree" — so the numbers carry clear meaning.

4. Present and watch the average update

   Each statement shows its own live average as ratings come in, so a multi-statement slide lets the room compare how different aspects stack up against each other at a glance.
