The Instructions slide
Before anyone can vote, they need to get in the room. The Instructions slide is the doorway — it's the only slide type built specifically to show your join details.
Every Slidea presentation needs a moment where the audience learns how to join, and the Instructions slide is designed to be that moment. It displays the join address, a short numeric code, and a scannable QR code, all generated fresh for that session — nobody has to type a URL from memory or hunt for a link in a chat window. Most presenters put it first in the deck, before any Content or Quiz slide, and leave it on screen while people trickle in.
It's worth treating this slide as more than a technical necessity. The seconds an audience spends staring at a join screen are also their first impression of the session, so a short welcome line or a hint at what's coming ("Today we're covering Q3 results — have your phone ready") does more work than a bare code ever will. Because the join panel itself updates automatically, everything you add around it is really about setting tone, not configuration.

Add it as your first slide
Select New Slide, then choose Instructions from the Content & Import section.

Write a short welcome

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an Instructions slide in every presentation?
It's optional but strongly recommended for any live session where people join with a code — without it, you'd need to read the join details out loud or share them another way. Self-paced surveys shared by direct link don't need one.
Can I put the Instructions slide anywhere other than first?
Yes — it works wherever you place it, and some presenters repeat it midway through a long session for latecomers. Most keep the primary one first so the join screen is the first thing the audience sees.
Does the QR code change every session?
Yes, by default. The join code refreshes each time you start a new session, which is what keeps a room secure from people joining late with an old code — unless you've set a fixed code as described above.
Can I style the Instructions slide like a Content slide?
The welcome text and background follow the same styling controls as a Content slide, so you can adjust fonts, colors, and add your logo. The join panel itself keeps a fixed layout so it stays scannable at any screen size.
